To our colleagues and friends in America, have a great 4th of July! What better way to celebrate this day than with a picture of one of our favorite aircraft from Southwest Airlines. The Boeing 737-800 features a stylized US national flag, with 50 stars and 13 stripes. The design was created by Southwest’s Creative Studio team, led by Eric D. Daniels. It took the paint team at International Aerospace Coatings (IAC) in Spokane, Washington, 14 days to complete, using a crew of up to 10 people per shift and more than 60 gallons of AkzoNobel chromate-free primer (HS2111 CF) and Aerodur 3001/3002 Basecoat/Clearcoat system

With a colorful design protected and enhanced by our Aerodur 3001 and Aerodur 3002 basecoat/clearcoat (BCCC) system, AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings is once again delighted to have played its part in bringing this special one-off livery to life. The popular cartoon character Chico Bento has leaped from the pages of the comic book to the surface of a Boeing 737-800 operated by the Brazilian carrier GOL Linhas Aéreas, inspired by the imagination of MSP - Mauricio de Sousa Produções team. As a country boy, Chico’s love of nature is a key focus of the design which features flora and fauna local to his homeland of Brazil. The project took two weeks to complete from start to finish, involving technical teams from the airline, the design studio, and our own people working in partnership. #akzonobel #aerospace #coatings

Creative Coatings Acquisition and Introduction:

We are back!

For the past 3 months, the four of us (Chris Stevenson, Bobby Malaczewski, Joseph Creek, and Jesse Creek) have been working together towards purchasing Creative Coatings, and that goal has finally become a reality. As of September 1st, we have acquired the Creative Coatings Co.

What this means is that the four of us, along with Ron Plonkey, Anthony Citraro, and Mike Marsee, will make up the new Creative Coatings Company. Rich Plonkey will be staying on temporarily to help ease the transition. All of our products will continue to ship from the Michigan facility, giving us a strong, centrally located distribution center for our expanding product offerings. Creative Coatings Company will now be official distributors for the following product lines:

-AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings- full tier 1 distributor
-Hentzen Coatings- full distributor
-NCP Coatings- full distributor

In addition to the above, Creative Coatings will now begin to fully stock a wide variety of coatings and products from the following companies:

-PPG Aerospace- fully stocking both Deft and PPG Legacy items
-Spectrum Coatings

As a result, Creative Coatings Company will be increasing our inventory and carrying a wider, more diverse selection of products from all five companies. We strive to maintain the fast turnaround times, competitive pricing, superior customer service, and industry experience you’ve received in the past. With over 100 years combined experience between the seven of us, we want Creative Coatings to become the “creative” solution to all your aerospace coating needs.
